S 300 experiment on Geos - Measurement and analysis system
Abstract
The S 300 experiment on Geos is designed for the detection and analysis of electromagnetic waves (VLF, ULF, and ELF) in the upper atmosphere. A review is presented of previous experiments (S 328, S 325/326, S 301/304) that paved the way for S 300, and the advantages and disadvantages of the S 300 system, which integrates a variety of sensors and analyzers in an effort to provide greater versatility, coherence, and reliability are discussed. Sensors, analyzers, the telemetry system, and the telecommand system are examined in detail.
