Optical and acoustical signal processing
Abstract
The paper discusses the use of linear transversal filters in optical and acoustic signal processing. Throughout the discussion the inputs are considered to be optical, acoustic or electronic, and various combinations of these technologies can simultaneously be applied to a single signal processing problem. The complex arithmetic nature of transversal filters is discussed. The characteristics of time-invariant linear filters - two port filters and multiport filters, of time variant filters, and of multidimensional filters are detailed.
