Reformulation of the plasma inverse scattering problem
Abstract
The onedimensional problem of determining the density of a plasma from the reflection of electromagnetic waves has been solved by the Gel'Fand Levitan technique. Here their integral equation is modified and simplified. Laplace transformation gives a simple functional equation, and the asymptotic for m of its solution yields the plasma density.
