The optimal planning of computerized manufacturing systems
Abstract
The development of a national methodology was investigated for optimal planning in the design and operation of computerized manufacturing systems. This is defined as a complex of machine tools, measuring devices, and storage facilities, totally interconnected for automatic operation and controlled by a digital computer. The project description, unit machining operations, scheduling theory and system simulation are reported.
