Speech digitization and compression by adaptive predictive coding with delayed decision
Abstract
A hybrid adaptive predictive coding scheme which employs a delayed decision encoding algorithm is described for application in quantization and compression of speech signals. Experimental results with a Viterbi algorithm delayed decision encoding procedure demonstrate considerable improvement in voice quality over the conventional adaptive predictive coding approach.
