United States earthquakes, 1973
Abstract
All earthquakes that were felt in the United States and nearby territories during 1973 are described. Earthquakes are listed chronologically in 11 regions: Northeastern Region, Eastern Region, Central Region, Western Mountain Region, California and Western Nevada, Washington and Oregon, Alaska, Hawaii, Panama Canal Zone, Puerto Rico, and Virgin Islands. In addition, instrumental epicenters of U.S earthquakes and principal earthquakes of the world are listed. Selections on horizontal and vertical control surveys for crustal movement studies, tsunamis, well-water fluctuations, and strong-motion seismograph data are included.
