Numerical simulation of turbulent exchange of a two-phase stratified flow in a channel
Abstract
The results obtained for a suspension-bearing turbulent flow in a channel are generalized. Numerical models distinguished by the hypothesis for the characteristic size of the vortexes and the boundary conditions are analyzed. The optimal statement of the problem for a uniform liquid is extended to the case of a two-phase turbulent flow. It is demonstrated that the proposed model permits the velocity distribution of the flow, the suspension, and the turbulence parameters to be obtained with a sufficient degree of accuracy by the given values of the basic flow characteristics.
