Pressure wave propagation through a separated gasliquid layer in a duct
Abstract
Weak pressurewave propagating through a separated gasliquid layer at rest in a duct of constant rectangular crosssection and infinite length is discussed. The proper geometrical dispersion of such a system is disclosed. The development of a disturbance initially having a step profile is followed on the basis of the linearized theory and the weak nonlinear asymptotic theory.
