Multiplicity distributions in the eikonal model
Abstract
A simple eikonal model, approximately consistent with geometric scaling, was developed and extended to predict the multiplicity distributions for high energy inelastic reactions. It was found that the naive form of the model does not fit the data, but that a simple modification, involving a subdivision of the available energy among the cut pomerons in the multipomeron exchange terms, does provide a reasonable fit to the data on multiplicity at 50, 69, 102, 205, 303, and 405 GeV/c.
