Remarks on target models for the design of radar systems
Abstract
Results of coherent measurements show the statistical properties of airplane signals. The phase shift has proved to be gaussian distributed with a deviation dependent on the kind of target and its aspect angle. This result can be seen as an addition to the known incoherent target models. Further measurements over long-time intervals show the statistical behavior of amplitude and phase shift of airplane signals necessary for the choice of scanning parameters in phased array radar systems. Finally some remarks on target classification by statistical tests are given.
