Grounding, bonding, and shielding practices and procedures for electronic equipments and facilities. Volume 2: Procedures for facilities and equipments
Abstract
A set of grounding, bonding, and shielding principles and practices for electronic equipments and facilities are presented in three volumes. In Volume I, the topics of personnel protection, fault protection, lightning protection, interference reduction, EMP protection, signal grounding, electromagnetic shielding, and electrical bonding are covered. The subjects are considered in terms of their influence on the design of the earth electrode system, the selection of ground reference networks for equipments and structures, shielding requirements, facility and equipment bonding requirements, cable selection and installation, etc. In Volume II, the principles and theories are reduced to practical steps and procedures for use in equipment and facility development. Assembly and construction, installation and checkout, and maintenance for long term use are emphasized in this Volume. Volume III considers the interrelationship between grounding, bonding, and shielding and other elements of the facility or equipment development cycle.
