Potential frequency accuracy of the CO2 fluorescence saturation dip
Abstract
An investigation is conducted concerning the frequency accuracy which can be obtained in a stabilization procedure based on the carbon dioxide fluorescence saturation dip. The data obtained together with projected developments concerning an improvement of signal-to-noise values and a narrowing of linewidths indicate that such a procedure could provide the stability and reproducibility achieved with a methane-stabilized He-Ne laser.
