Future programs in solar physics from space
Abstract
The cited solar-physics programs are grouped into two categories: those that have already been initiated or approved and those that are planned for the Space Shuttle era. The first category includes the OSO 1 mission, the French satellite D2B, and the NASA-ESRO International Sun Earth Explorer (ISEE) series. The second category includes the Solar Maximum Mission, scheduled for 1977, and the Solar Telescope Cluster, planned for the late 1980's. The goals of each program are outlined, and the instruments to be used are briefly described.
