Mobile RFI antenna system
Abstract
The Mobile RFI Antenna System (Antenna Group OE-195/T) described in this paper is part of an advanced Site Survey System (AN/MRM-14) developed by RADC for the Air Force Communications Service (AFCS). The AN/MRM-14 was developed to overcome shortcomings of present instrumentation used by AFCS. The AN/MRM-14 provides the following features: Frequency coverage from 10 kHz to 18 GHz, utilizing an antenna subsystem consisting of eight antennas, an automatic spectrum analyzer (HP 8580B) and a back-up receiving system (WJ 8959); improved intercept probability and more rapid data collection and analysis through an automated measurement capability; increased system sensitivity (10 to 25 dB) and improved performance thru higher antenna gains and increased antenna heights; world-wide transport and deployment including stringent mobility and environmental conditions; improved ability to set up, disassemble and stow antennas and masts and without the need for external construction equipment.
