Guidance of spacecraft during swingby
Abstract
The problem of using autonomous optical measurements and ground-based Doppler measurements for optimal guidance of a spacecraft during a swingby maneuver is discussed. It is assumed that only ground-based measurements are used during the flight to the intermediate (swingby) planet. Analytical expressions for the optimal number of course corrections are derived.
