Calculation of the diffusion in multicomponent mixtures
Abstract
Two approximation methods for calculating the gaseous diffusion are proposed. The first method is based on the mean free path theory of the elementary kinetic gas theory, which produces an approximation formula for the polynary diffusion coefficients Dik. The second approximation results from a simplification of the Stefan-Maxwell equations using a materials group model.
