Electron optics for CRT's - Computer modeling
Abstract
A scaled approach for modeling a CRT-type of electron gun is outlined in which the region of the cathode and control grid is treated with greater accuracy than are the succeeding regions of the lens and field-free space. The steps needed to implement this scaled approach are summarized using computer-drawn plots of the gun structure, field, and beam. In addition, a new analytical approach referred to as refining the axial potentials is described which is intended for modeling a color CRT innovation provided with an eccentric electrostatic lens to bend or focus the electron beam.
