Covariant harmonic oscillators and excited baryon decays
Abstract
The covariant harmonic oscillator wave functions were used to study the decay matrix elements of the excited baryonic resonances. It is pointed out that the harmonic oscillator wave function is suitable for the description of relativistic extended particles. The probability concept of the covariant harmonic oscillator wave functions and the covariant Dirac spinsors were used to calculate the delta hyperon - pion decays of the F15(1690), D15(1690) and D13(1520) resonances. Numerical results are in excellent agreement with the measurable ratios in these decay processes.
