Measurement of the spatial distribution and the velocity distribution of fragment clouds and shot grains
Abstract
The measuring technique presented uses argon flash lamps, which allows photography of fragments as self-shining points with a simple polaroid-camera. This method provides the important data of fragment or grain ammunition in acceptance tests in spite of the small size of the fragments, e.g. only 2.4 mm diameter, immediately after the test. The method is compared to shadow and X-ray flash photography.
