Commercial application of rocket engine technology
Abstract
The technology developed to produce rocket engine propulsion system for space satellites and moon landings has been applied to the design of compact combustion and heat exchange equipment intended for use in the commercial field. An initial application of this technology to the design of a steam generating system to be used by electric utilities in the production of peaking electric power is described. Performance and operational characteristics are presented. Other applications for similar heat exchange equipment are discussed along with some future design changes which will result in expanding the field of application.
