The construction of the analytical theory of earth-satellite motion /the main theory/ via computer using the OPAL programming system
Abstract
The main theory of earth-satellite motion refers to the main sort of perturbation that these satellites undergo, that is, from the second zonal harmonic of the geopotential. To solve this problem with utmost accuracy, a new programming system, OPAL (optimal algebra) has been conceived on the basis of machine-oriented language, permitting all operations to be carried out on Poisson literal series. There is considerable improvement in terms of memory capacity and machine time, in comparison with programs using algorithmic languages.
