Hydrocarbon-air mixture combustion gasdynamic laser
Abstract
The paper presents the results of an experimental and theoretical study of the unsaturated gain and power of laser radiation in a quasi-continuous gas laser using the combustion products of a hydrocarbon-air mixture. In the experimental part, a laser operating on air mixtures of acetylene, propane, and carbon monoxide with hydrogen was used. It was found experimentally that for gain-optimal values of the deceleration parameters, the gain factor attained .008 per cm, which agreed well with computational results. Maximum value of output power attained was 8.5 kW.
