A note on Butler's magnetohydrodynamic flow problem in a rectangular duct
Abstract
An investigation of a duct flow problem conducted by Butler (1969) is considered. It is shown that a certain assumption made by Butler regarding the identity of the solution to his problem with a solution reported by Sloan and Smith (1966) is not permissible. An investigation indicates that an exact solution to Butler's problem cannot be readily obtained by the methods of Sloan and Smith.
