Theory of excitation of circular coaxial waveguides with discontinuities
Abstract
The paper considers excitation of symmetric waves for the case when the boundary conditions are given by two separate systems for electric and magnetic waves. A generalized scheme for N finite waveguides with discontinuities at K points is obtained. The K singular integral equations obtained for the vector current are then solved in the short wave limit by an iterative method, a generalization of the WienerHopf method. This required factorization of some matrix functions. Sufficient conditions for factorization are determined, and a factorization procedure is set forth, consisting in the spectral decomposition of a matrix and factorization of its eigenvalues.
