Experimental study of heat transfer in an equilibrium turbulent boundary layer with a large positive pressure gradient
Abstract
The paper describes a subsonic-wind-tunnel investigation of heat transfer in a decelerated equilibrium turbulent boundary layer obtained under conditions when the thermal boundary layer is evolving inside the dynamic boundary layer. Hot-wire anemometers were used to measure the mean and pulsational characteristics of the thermal and dynamic boundary layers. The local coefficients of friction were measured along the logarithmic part of the velocity profile and the two-dimensionality of the flow was examined by interpolating the experimental values of the parameters into the the integral equation describing the pulsations.
