Integral reflection measurements involving polished specimens in the soft X-ray region
Abstract
An investigation was conducted of the reflectivity characteristics of the plane mirror surfaces of various materials, taking into account the wavelength region from 8.3 to 44.8 A. Zerodur specimens with a gold film, which had been applied with the aid of a vapor-deposition process, provided the best reflectivity results at all wavelengths and also at large angles of incidence. The vapor deposition of a film with a thickness of 150 A was found to give better results than the deposition of a film of 250 A.
