Observation of radio-frequency pulses produced by heating crystals and minerals in vacuum
Abstract
The present article is a description of results obtained in an investigation of the electromagnetic radiation at wavelengths λ = 9.5 1333 m, which is observed upon heating nonirradiated and electron-irradiated alkali-halide crystals, CaF2 crystals, and natural fluorite at temperatures between 20°C and 600°C. The dependence of the counting rate of the radio-frequency pulses upon both the stored energy and the energy of the crystal lattice was determined.
