Internal-friction anisotropy in a real crystal and construction of characteristic internal-friction surfaces
Abstract
General trends are examined for the anisotropy in the background amplitude-independent internal friction in a real crystal with space and time dispersion. A variational criterion is formulated to define the limits of application of the theory, and a method is proposed for constructing the characteristic internal-friction surfaces.
