A computation procedure for three-dimensional flows with applications to some laminar incompressible internal flows
Abstract
A computer procedure for three-dimensional flows based on the Patankar and Spalding algorithm is presented. Computations are performed for three laminar flow cases; inlet flow in a square duct with a laterally moving wall, flow through a sudden expansion, and flow in a rectangular three-dimensional cavity with a moving wall. Comparison with experiments and other calculations are shown. The agreement is good taking into account that only 9 grid-points were used in each of the three coordinate directions.
