Application of hypervelocity backward reference holography to the study of dynamic deformations
Abstract
The deformations of a sapphire disk due to the impact of hypervelocity Pb projectile were visualized using color holographic mounting (backward reference holography) combined with the double exposure technique. The hologram was observed by reflection and in white light (sun, pocket lamp). The processing of the gelatin in a triethanol amine solution allows the hologram to restitute the original recorded color.
