Tantalum capacitors. An evaluation of eleven types of tantalum capacitors

The stability of different tantalum capacitors available on the Danish market is compared. A 35 V capacitor in a high and low capacity value was tested for each manufacturer. Particular emphasis was placed on the long term stability when exposed to humidity conditions and to load life test at high temperatures. For some of the manufacturers tested, many catastrophic failures occured. The test results are given in a graphical form, enabling an easy comparison between the different manufacturers.
