Heat transfer modification through boundary layer control
Abstract
The possibility of conserving energy through controlling the air boundary layer thickness at a window was studied. Conduction through the air boundary layer was found to account for less than 40% of the energy arriving/departing the window surfaces, with the remainder via thermal radiation.
