The development of a laser-grating method for the measurements of strain distributions in plane, opaque surfaces
Abstract
Glass plate negatives of a grid on a specimen were measured out on an optical bench by means of a thin laser beam. The diffraction phenomenon was used; the diffraction angles were measured by means of opto-electronic devices. The ultimate goal is a relatively fast and accurate method for the measurement of elasto-plastic deformations.
