Towards shorter wavelength lasers and breaking the 1000 angstrom barrier-3 (recombination)
Abstract
The physics of recombination in a multi-ionized and dense plasma is discussed. Emphasis is given to such a medium as a potential source for VUV and X-ray lasers. Results of some model calculations for hydrogen and C(+5)(lambda = 34A) are presented.
