UCAP, UHK-TV Channel Assignment Program
Abstract
The UHF-TV channel assignment program is a FORTRAN computer program capable of producing UHF-TV channel assignment tables. Each table is produced by changing the input parameters, which are: the taboo separation distances and the UHF channel numbers in the range LOW to HIGH. Each table is subject to the following conditions: (1) the range of channel numbers (HIGH-LOW) must not exceed 48 channels; (2) channel number 37 is not used; (3) existing occupied assignments having a channel number greater than HIGH are given first priority for a reassigned number in the range LOW-HIGH; (4)existing occupied assignments in the range 14-HIGH are not reassigned; and (5) as many as possible of the existing unoccupied assignments in the channel range 14-83 are reassigned to the range LOW-HIGH.
