Infra-Red lasers and infra-red spectra of free radicals
Abstract
In this report on the influence of laser media in carbon dioxide laser pumping, the authors conclude that the reaction of nitrogen atoms with nitric oxide as well as two metastable of nitrogen can be used as laser energy sources. In addition, the reaction of nitrogen atoms with carbon disulfide and carbonyl sulfide proceed at rates sufficient to energize the carbon dioxide laser. Chemical mechanisms are proposed.
