Abstract
The papers presented deal with most of the major aspects of microwave engineering, including semiconductor devices and related circuitry, communication systems and their subassemblies, mixers, filters, and switches, and aperture and array antennas. Papers are also devoted to new concepts in microwave measuring techniques, waveguides, radar and navigation, phase shifters, microwave acoustics, and medical/biological applications. Some individual topics studied include the design of Cassegrain antennas for high efficiency and low VSWR, coaxial millimeter wave Josephson junction detector, p-i-n diode transients in high speed switching applications, a phenomenological model for AM and FM noise of Gunn type microwave oscillators, a universal method to calculate the dynamical properties of microstrip discontinuities, and periodically loaded ferrite phase shifters.
