Potential accuracy of direction finding by single-pulse methods
Abstract
Expressions are obtained for determining the potential accuracy of direction finding by single-pulse amplitude and phase methods for linear antenna apertures. Allowance is made for spatial signal distortions during instantaneous sampling and for the internal noise of the receiving system. Comparison between the two methods shows that the accuracy of direction finding by the amplitude method is superior to that of the phase method.
