Transistor configurations in integrated transistor antennas
Abstract
A method is proposed for the generalized analysis of all the possible six structures of integrated transistor amplifier active antennas. The antenna, which has a loop monopole structure acting as a transmitting or receiving antenna, is analyzed by taking the relevant transistor configurations into account. The results obtained show that the distinction between push-pull and push-push modes for the transmitting active antenna and between normal and reverse bias modes of the active device for the transmitting and receiving active antennas is necessary for proper understanding of the part played by the active device in the integrated active antenna structure.
