Device for measuring the emission characteristics of CO2 lasers
Abstract
The paper describes an infrared detector on the basis of a thermo-optical transducer with a As2Se3 film for measuring the power output and recording the mode structure of CW CO2 lasers. The operating principle of the thermo-optical transducer has to do with the change of optical thickness of the semiconducting film due to infrared laser heating and a resulting shift in the fundamental absorptivity of the semiconductor.
