A contribution to the design of active band-pass filters with a minimum number of capacitors
Abstract
Basic relations and devices for the design of the filters are considered, taking into account impedance converters, impedance inverters, frequency-dependent negative resistances (FDNR) and effects of nonideal amplifier characteristics on the impedance transformers. An investigation is conducted of the characteristics of networks with general impedances. Approaches for a synthesis of filter circuits with the aid of general impedances are discussed and a description is given of the design of band-pass filters with FDNRs and a gyrator or an impedance converter. Attention is also given to procedures for the implementation of symmetric band-pass filters which are derived from low-pass filters of odd degree.
