A Model for the Galactic Neutral Hydrogen Atom Distribution.
Abstract
Considered is an infinitely conducting rotating gas disc of finite thickness subject to an external gravitational field. Once the rotation curve was specified, two solutions were found to the hydromagnetic equations. For the first solution rigid rotation was assumed, for the second, each stream surface rotation of the magnetic field at different speed. The two undetermined functions of the solution are chosen linear so that the differential equation remains linear. With a choice made for the rotation curve and with the gas density prescribed, the magnetic field and star distribution are expressed in Besselcosine series in a two parameter model.
