Slow motions of a liquid drop in a viscous fluid
Abstract
The unsteady motion of a spherical drop in a viscous fluid is examined under the assumption that surface-active additives are absent. The problem of the oscillations and the arbitrary accelerations of the bubble is considered. A formula is presented for determining the drag force of drops in high-viscosity fluids, of viscoelastic drops, and of 'slip' particles.
