Lasing in solutions of rhodamine 6G in mixed aqueous-organic solvents
Abstract
Experimental studies were made of the spectral-luminescence and lasing characteristics of solutions of rhodamine 6G in binary aqueous-organic solvents. The organic solvents tested were acetic acid, isopropyl alcohol, and dimethyl formamide. It is found that the use of a combination of water and an organic solvent, as opposed to a purely organic solvent, makes it possible to increase the laser output energy of rhodamine 6G by more than a factor of 2.
