Calculation of interaction barriers using the energy density formalism
Abstract
Interaction barriers are calculated within the framework of the energy density formalism using the sudden approximation with no adjustable parameters. The experimental data are well reproduced up to Z_{1}Z_{2} ≈ 27002800; above this value, only an estimate can be given, due to changes in the interaction energy curves. A graphical method allowing one to calculate the interaction barriers is proposed.
