Kinetic theory of nonideal gas and nonideal plasma
Abstract
The book gives a systematic exposition of the classical theory of the kinetics of nonideal gases and nonideal fully ionized plasma along with the quantum kinetic theory of nonideal gases and plasma. A section is also devoted to the kinetic description of chemically reacting gases and partially ionized plasma. The discussions cover the method of distribution functions and the method of moments, the Boltzmann kinetic equation for spatially homogeneous ideal gas, the collision integral in the approximate perturbation theory, Boltzmann's H-theorem for nonideal gas, kinetic equations for dense gases, kinetic theory for fluctuations in a gas, the Vlasov equations, kinetic equations for a relativistic plasma, effects of external fields on kinetic properties of plasma, Landau kinetic equation for nonideal plasma, formulations of the quantum collision integral, and the quantum kinetic Boltzmann equation.
