Lasers for industrial applications
Abstract
The book examines the chief aspects of the use of lasers in the technology of materials processing and welding. Basic information is presented on the design, characteristics, and performance of laser technical equipment. The main physical processes taking place during treatment of materials by laser radiation are described, including absorption of radiation, heating without destruction, destruction of materials, fusion of metals, unsteady evaporation, and laser cutting. Techniques are described for welding of wires, sheets, and massive parts. Techniques are also described for hole drilling, treatment of thin films, and separation of materials.
