Heat resistant wires and cables with radiation-modified insulation
Abstract
The book describes the physical, chemical, and mechanical properties of irradiated polyolephines and polymers and sets forth basic techniques for the fabrication of wires and cables using insulation made of materials treated in this manner. Electrical circuit wire and coil wire for immersible electric motors with irradiated polymer insulation are studied along with ship cables, electrical circuit cable, cable for atomic generators, and cable for geophysical studies and oil and gas exploration. Some parts insulated with irradiated polymer material are examined, including insulating films, insulating pipes, and insulating molded parts. Important aspects of radiation technology are investigated, including methods of calculating the radiation process and controlling its parameters. Applications of radiation-modified insulation are identified.
