Effect of ionospheric heating by powerful radio emission on the sporadic E layer
Abstract
The paper studies the effect of heating of the electron gas of the ionosphere by powerful radio emission on the structure of the sporadic E layer within the framework of wind shear theory with allowance for the redistribution of metallic ions. Estimates of the change in electron concentration in the regular E and Es layer are made for various degrees of heating of the electron gas. It is demonstrated that as a result of heating by a radio wave field, the electron concentration in the Es layer drops, and the width of the region increases.
