Global distribution of the absorption of radiowaves in the ionosphere
Abstract
The paper analyzes theoretically the global distribution of absorption in the E, FE, and F ionospheric waveguides. Bulk absorption distribution is calculated on the basis of a model of the ionosphere under calm equinox conditions of minimum solar activity. Upper and lower limits are obtained for the global distribution of absorption for the propagation of round-the-world radio waves in the range 7-22 MHz.
